Veterinary care is an essential part of our community and we want to assure you that our hospital is open and will continue to provide services at this time. We also want to work with you and our staff to limit direct contact in order to focus on safety for everyone during this pandemic.  Accordingly, we ask that you follow the below steps for the safety of all:

  • Upon arrival at the hospital, please remain in your vehicle and call us.
  • After receipt of the call, we will check you in as soon as possible from outside the hospital.
  • If you believe you need to be inside our facility, please discuss that request in advance with the Hospital Manager, Medical Director, and/or attending veterinarian.
  • If you are at the hospital to pick up food or medication, please remain in your car outside the hospital and call the front desk.  We will deliver your order to your car as quickly as possible.
  • If you are not feeling well or may be at risk of exposure to coronavirus, please ask a healthy friend or family member to transport your pet to the hospital on your behalf.
  • We will do our best to coordinate your visit from outside the hospital, including providing follow up instructions and taking payments.

At VCA, we have various ways to help care for your pets without a trip or call to the hospital.

  1. Text Messaging: You can send and receive texts and photos with us. Texting is only available during operating hours, response times vary, but we will do our best to respond quickly.
  2. myVCA Live Chat: VCA CareClub® members can chat with a veterinarian anytime, day or night via our telehealth Live Chat service on the myVCA app.

Small businesses have the ability to have a dramatic, positive impact on the communities that have supported them in times like these.

Please help us find the stories to tell. Tell us who is inspiring you and why and we’ll take it from there.  Click here to learn more.

The Arc of Greater Williamsburg:
The Arc and many other organizations are providing ways to utilize technology to connect virtually, by phone, via social media and even with a card or letter! This is the time when we look for ways for random acts of kindness. Call someone you know is alone, connect with family or friends that are far away, and be mindful of neighbors who live alone.

The Arc is amazed by the strength, resilience, and adaptability of our clients and we want them to know that we are in this together. A call from a staff or board member to visit and discuss resources, ways to exercise, nutrition tips, or just to make sure they are okay, is happening.

William & Mary students, even though they aren’t on campus, are connecting with their Best Buddies (a group of students who have an Arc buddy) and our amazing tutors with our Literacy Program are reaching out from their homes to stay in touch, discuss what they are reading, and connecting with their Arc friend. WM has always been the backbone of volunteer support for The Arc and I am in awe of their dedication, compassion, and genuine friendships with our Arc family.  Please visit our website at thearcgw.org and you will see the resources, tips, and updates we are providing daily.

Mettle Events:
It is with deep regret that we must cancel the 2020 Billsburg Bunny Hops 5K & Easter Egg Hunt.

We had held out hopes that this would all be behind us by Easter weekend, but it is clear now that we’ll still be under those restrictions.

We’re offering two options to you based on the early cancellation of the event. You can either defer your entry to 2021 free of charge, or you can switch your registration to virtual. You will need to re-register your children for the Easter egg hunt next year as there is no Easter egg hunt deferral option.

To defer your registration, please click this link  with instructions to log in to CT Live and defer. You will select the “defer my registration to another event” radio box and select the 2021 Billsburg Bunny Hops event. Once you have completed that, you are set for next year’s race.

If you would like to run the 5K virtually, you can switch your registration to virtual. Then just complete a 5K run on your own and report it to us on a link to be provided later. Following race day we will mail you your medal. Please note that we have not ordered T-shirts for this event and we do not intend to do that for this year. To switch to the Virtual run, please select the “change to another race” radio box and select the Virtual 5K option. Then just report your time, and we’ll mail out your medal in the week following Easter.

We wish you and your family a healthy and safe Easter holiday. We hope everyone is adhering to CDC guidelines to help us get through this pandemic in the shortest time frame possible.  Team Mettle
