WILLIAMSBURG — Busch Gardens Williamsburg recently announced Verbolten will be receiving updates for 2026.

Verbolten debuted in May 2012, at the former location of the original Big Bad Wolf. According to Rollercoaster Database, the ride spans 2,835 feet of track and features speeds up to 58 miles per hour. With a height requirement listed at 48 inches, it is described as a high-level thrill ride.

The park said the coaster will be reimagined with immersive storytelling and special effects. The new story will now follow Black Forest Motor Tours, under new management, which welcomes adventurers eager to explore Germany’s legendary countryside. The drive promises charm and folklore at every turn, but what was once a whimsical land of fairy tales will become something darker, where one wrong turn could awaken forces long forgotten.

Busch Gardens promises more details are on the way and has listed no official open date. However, the park says that the attraction is already shaping up to be an immersive journey like no other.

The attraction will remain open for guests to enjoy through Jan. 4. Busch Gardens also notes that members will receive First-to-Ride Access to the All-New Verbolten: Forbidden Turn. For more information, visit the Busch Gardens Williamsburg website.
