WILLIAMSBURG — Art lovers and supporters of arts education are invited to attend An Evening for the Arts on Thursday, March 27.
This evening reception and silent auction will help support the An Occasion for the Arts Artist in Residence Program, which places professional artists in public schools throughout the community.
The event is $20 per person and includes:
- Entry to An Evening for the Arts at the Muscarelle Museum of Art.
- Access to the museum’s special exhibition, Michelangelo: The Genesis of the Sistine.
- Two drink tickets (beer and wine) and light refreshments.
- One raffle ticket for a chance to win original artwork by renowned vector painter Bob Oller and other specially curated items.
In addition to meeting and mingling with fellow art enthusiasts and artists, attendees will also be able to bid on a curated collection of silent auction items.
AOFTA said the evening’s silent auction will include over 50 items for all bidding levels; from jewelry and artwork to signed books and gift certificates from area businesses. The program will kick off with a brief panel conversation with teachers and artist Bob Oller, the Artist in Residence for 2024 and 2025.
“We are so appreciative of the Muscarelle for partnering with us and the community support to help AOFTA raise as much as possible towards the $15,000 needed to continue AOFTA’s Artist in Residence program,” said Jill Pongonis, AOFTA Board Chair.
The event will run from 5-8 p.m. with the following itinerary:
5 p.m. — Doors Open, Light Refreshments, Silent Auction Opens
5:30 p.m. — Welcome and Artist in Residence Panel Discussion
6:15 p.m. — Michelangelo Special Exhibition and Select Galleries Open
