Editor’s Note — As part of our countdown to 2025, WYDaily is revisiting its most-read and favorite stories of the year. Reporter Jillian Appel said this was a special story for her, as one of the first ribbon cuttings she covered for WYDaily was for the Wagsters’ original theater location in Williamsburg. Seeing the theater grow and expand over time has been something very special for her to witness.

WILLIAMSBURG — The Wagsters Magic Theatre celebrated its reopening at its new location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 28.
Award-winning magicians Brandon and Hannah Wagster have been performing in Williamsburg since 2022. The couple announced last year plans to move to a new theater on High Street. The new location is a 7,500 square-foot facility that will accommodate 125 guests and allow the theater to be open for people to shop outside of performance times.
“Congratulations, it’s always exciting to see somebody expand their business and is doing well. I think [the Wagsters] have found a great niche here because [their] not only a tourist attraction but tourists want to come here as well,” said State Sen. Danny Diggs at the ribbon cutting. “The best of luck to the [Wagsters] and congratulations on growing your business.”
“This was actually one of the first units I looked at was this very building; this used to be Vanity Fair and we’re standing on right now what used to be fitting rooms,” Brandon Wagster said from the brand new stage. “The archway leading into the fitting room, as I looked through these windows and said, ‘Wow, that kind of looks like a stage.'”
“Although we couldn’t afford to do what we’ve done now three years ago, we’ve just been reflecting over our lives the last couple of days and its incredible that in three years we’re in this brand new beauitful venue and its because of the support of this community, the city, the fans, the friends, and the family that we’ve built,” he continued.
After the ceremony, attendees were invited to enjoy refreshments, socialize and explore the new venue.
The new location is at 1430 High St., ste 202. To learn more about shows and to purchase tickets, visit the Wagsters Magic Theatre website.
