WILLIAMSBURG — Busch Gardens Williamsburg has officially announced the full lineup of new and returning favorites for Howl-O-Scream, beginning Sept. 5.
Voted the number one Theme Park Halloween Event by USA Today’s 10 Best in 2024, Busch Gardens says this year’s event returns with five haunted houses, six Terror-tories and four shows. Two of the haunted houses, three of the terror-tories, and two shows are new this year.
Clown Town, Death Water Bayou: Morte and KILLarney DInEr: Condemned are the returning haunted houses. The park noted Death Water Bayou and Killarney DInEr have both been revamped, while Clown Town is a returning favorite.
This season’s all-new haunted houses will be:
- Bloodshot — Busch Gardens calls this new house a dive bar for the undead, uncovered deep within the ruins of Pompeii. A dwelling of nightstalkers have created their own haven, a dank hovel of despair stuck in the past. The taps have run dry, and the vampires need refills of A, B, and O-negative. If patrons aren’t out by last call, they might be first in line to help tap the next ‘keg.’
- Werewolves: The Wolf’s Revenge — The park says after years of silence, a creature long thought extinct from memory has resurfaced. The accounts are all the same — something more than human, more than animal, is lurking in the forest. A causeway of carnage has led stout-hearted hunters to the lair of the lycan! These brave souls successfully captured the creature terrorizing the forest, and they brought it to their containment facility to identify what it is and where it came from. But the hunters have quickly become the hunted, as this age-old entity from storybooks has broken through the chains and has been unleashed on the hapless humans trapped in the facility.
Returning Terror-tories include Ripper Row, Stalker Street and Fest-Evil.
Howl-O-Scream’s new terror-torries include:
- Bavarian Bloodshed — Under the Blood Moon, something ancient awakens. This once-merry Bavarian village has become a hunting ground, where beer hall laughter has been replaced by snarls and screams. Mangled villagers stagger through the fog — some half-human, others fully claimed by the curse. The Big Bad Wolf is no longer a story … it’s a nightmare that can’t be outrun.
- Wicked Wunderland — In this twisted alpine village, holiday cheer curdles into festive fear; garlands rot, snowmen sneer, and the shadow of Krampus looms large. Nestled in the heart of Germany, it’s a wintry nightmare you won’t soon escape.
- Disgrotesque — Demonic glamour meets infernal nightlife as the Mistress of Mayhem presides over a haunting haze of lights, music, and madness. This chaotic, cabaret-inspired fever dream turns the France village into a grotesque celebration visitors won’t soon forget.
Shows Monster Stomp on Ripper Row will be returning, as well as Fiends. The two new shows will be Skeletons in Your Closet and Spirit Spellabration.
Howl-O-Scream begins Sept. 5 and runs on select nights through Nov. 2. For more information about Howl-O-Scream, visit the official Busch Gardens website.
