JAMES CITY COUNTY — July 2025 is Parks & Recreation Month and James City County is celebrating alongside its department.
Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association, is celebrated annually. July 18 also coincides with Park and Recreation Professionals Day, which honors the professionals who help build strong, vibrant and resilient communities through parks and recreation efforts.
On June 24, Parks & Recreation staff attended the Board of Supervisors meeting to accept a proclamation recognizing Park and Recreation Month and Park and Recreation Professionals Day.
“In James City County, we’re proud to offer inclusive programs, essential services for all ages and abilities and safe, accessible spaces where meaningful connections are made,” a Parks and Rec representative said.
According to the Parks and Recreation staff, July is the perfect time to visit a new park, walk a new trail, or try a new program or activity.
