Daily Yorktown Trolley Service Returns March 21

(York County Public Affairs)

YORKTOWN — Daily service for the Yorktown Trolley begins March 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 16, with extended hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.

The free, air-conditioned (and heated) trolley is one of the best ways to see Historic Yorktown, according to York County Public Affairs. The transportation service is bookended by Yorktown’s two main historical attractions: the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, with several stops in between, including the Victory Monument, Historic Main Street, Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown Beach, Watermen’s Museum, and the York County Courts and Office Complex.

Each trolley can accommodate 28 seated and 19 standing passengers. The service transports an estimated 95,000 passengers throughout Historic Yorktown during its operating season, according to the county. Each trolley is ADA accessible and includes an infotainment system highlighting details about upcoming events in Yorktown, as well as promotions for local businesses.

During the ride, Trolley drivers can provide helpful information about each stop so riders can focus on the scenery, the history, and where to want to have their next meal, the county added. The overall route takes an estimated 20 to 25 minutes to complete.
