YORKTOWN — York County announced that many county offices will be closed on Friday, Oct. 18, in observance of Yorktown Day, which commemorates the Siege of Yorktown in 1781 and the victory that ended the Revolutionary War.
The following county offices will be closed:
- County Government Offices
- York-Poquoson Social Services
- York County Libraries
- Voter Registration Offices
- Waste Management Center Offices
York County Courts, Virginia Cooperative Extension, the VPPSA Compost Facility, Transfer Station, and Citizen Drop-off areas at the Waste Management Center are open on Oct. 18, the county said.
Additionally, garbage and recycling collections are not affected by the holiday. Residents needing assistance are reminded to submit requests via the Customer Service Request Portal at yorkcounty.gov/requests.
