
WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate a shooting suspect.
On March 18 at 10:45 p.m., WPD officers responded to a shooting at the 400 block of York St.
The shooter was later identified as Nilson Javier Hernandez-Flores. The suspect shot a firearm into a small gathering of people and one individual was struck.
Hernandez-Flores then drove off in a stolen vehicle prior to officers arriving on the scene.
The victim was treated and released from Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hernandez-Flores is currently wanted on three felony charges:
- maiming
- use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (1st offense)
- grand larceny – stolen vehicle
The Hernandez-Flores is described as Hispanic, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
In a release, WPD stated that if you see Hernandez-Flores, to “immediately call 9-1-1 and do not approach him, as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.”
WPD asks that if anyone has information regarding Hernandez-Flores or the shooting incident to call the Criminal Investigations Bureau at (757) 220-2331.
