WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Police Department’s (WPD) Human Services Department has been collecting non-perishable food for its “Stuff the Cruiser” food drive.

This is the second year that the Stuff the Cruiser food drive has taken place. This year, the food drive started on Nov. 19 at the Aldi on Richmond Road and continued on Nov. 21 at the Food Lion on Richmond Road. During the event, the Police Department also helped Heritage Humane Society gather dog and cat food and toys for the shelter animals.

WPD’s community engagement Officer Charles Stamper is now working with the Williamsburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the Human Services Department to help give out meals gathered at the food drive to families in Williamsburg who are in need before Thanksgiving takes place on Nov. 25.

Those who can’t make it to these locations can drop their donations off at the Human Services Department or the Williamsburg Police Station.

The City of Williamsburg asks that if locals know any families who would benefit from the drives to contact the Human Services Department.
