YORK COUNTY — York-Poquoson Sheriff Danny Diggs, along with other County officials and dignitaries, will break ground for the York County Law Enforcement Building on Service Drive Nov. 16 at 3 p.m.

Once it is completed, the 50,000 square foot facility will house a community room as well as offices and training space for the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

The building is projected to be completed by early 2023 and will be one of the biggest county construction projects since the completion of the York-Poquoson Courthouse on Ballard Street.

This will be YPSO’s third move since the previous office was torn down in 1998. Currently YPSO shares the York County Emergency Communications Center and Public Safety Building, 301 Goodwin Neck Road, with Fire and Life Safety and Social Services.
