UPDATE: Senior Alert CANCELED for Peninsula Woman

UPDATE (Aug. 23, 2021): This Senior Alert has been canceled and Ms. Carson has been safely located.

HAMPTON — Virginia State Police (VSP) has activated a Senior Alert on behalf of the Hampton Police department for a missing Peninsula woman.

The missing senior has been identified as Svandis Helen Carson. She is described as a 77-year-old Caucasian woman with green eyes and gray hair. She stands at approximately 5 feet 7 inches and weighs around 200 lbs.

Carson was last seen on Aug. 21 at approximately 6:30 p.m. leaving her son’s residence located on Marcella Road in Hampton. She is reported has having worn a white shirt, black pants and slip-on shoes.

VSP reports that she could be driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla with Virginia handicap license plate number 279129.

Carson is said to suffer from a cognitive impairment and that her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety.
