YORKTOWN — The Yorktown Library will soon begin providing curbside service at the Grafton Annex.
Since closing in May for renovation and expansion, Yorktown Library has been using Grafton Annex Library, 5751 George Washington Memorial Highway, as a warehouse to store books and collections.
Starting July 6, patrons can call Yorktown Library to place a hold on an item, or do it through their online catalog.
They can then pull up to the Grafton Annex and call a number that will be posted at the parking spaces and a staff member will bring their items out to them.

What used to be Fire Station 1, Grafton Annex has received a bit of a facelift to be usable for the library staff.
Work began on the building in March, which included painting and space redesign.
Manager of Yorktown Library Elizabeth Land said that what used to be the old fire station’s bunk room will be the library’s browsing room, which will likely open to the public in August.
Until then, patrons are encouraged to use the outdoor book drop at the annex’s rear entrance.
The curbside pickup will be held Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
