Update (March 26, 2021): There is not an update as to what will be moving into the space that the bookstore is vacating. In an email on March 26, Eden R. Harris, associate director of marketing, administration and licensing for the College of William & Mary’s Office of Auxiliary Services, stated that the space will be marketed and leased through Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, a commercial real estate firm, on behalf of Colonial Williamsburg.

WILLIAMSBURG — When William & Mary students return for the fall semester they will find their bookstore in a new location.
The William & Mary bookstore will move into the Triangle Building at 601 Prince George Street in downtown Williamsburg, according to a press release from William & Mary.
The bookstore will close its current location in Merchants Square this June.
The new location will offer outdoor seating and free parking, while also continuing to offer in-store events and programs.
“The move reflects W&M Bookstore’s continued adaptations to the sale and delivery of university textbooks and course materials while recognizing the value of in-person shopping for W&M merchandise and supplies,” said Director of William & Mary Auxiliary Services Cindy Glavas.
Students will still be able to buy and rent textbooks online and pick up their materials in person or have them delivered.
During the time between the closing of the current store and opening of the new one, customers can visit the bookstore’s website for course materials and merchandise.
Other tenants of the Triangle Building include The Bake Shop Bakery & Coffee Bar, Luck Kee Hair and Rick’s Cheese Steak Shop.
“This new location will allow us to be closer to the majority of our student population, especially those residing on the northeast side of campus, in addition to providing easy access to guests visiting campus,” said Susan Lemerise, William & Mary Bookstore general manager.
