Virginia Beach Police are investigating a homicide.
It happened on Sunday at approximately 4:35 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a cardiac arrest at the 5600 Block Lone Holly Lane.
When police arrived they discovered a male who was severely assaulted in a vehicle. The man was transported to the hospital to be treated, but succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigations shows that the victim and a female were sitting in a vehicle at the case location, when a male approached the vehicle and began assaulting the victim. It is unknown at this time as to why the assault took place.
This is still an active scene being investigated by Homicide Detectives.
