VIRGINIA BEACH — A Peninsula favorite for Greek delicacies is opening a second location on the Southside within the coming weeks.
Jimmy da Greek’s Deli opened its first location in Yorktown back in 2017 but will be making its way to Market Square on Virginia Beach Boulevard.
Jimmy Alimonos is the restaurant’s owner and namesake and said with the city’s massive population he’s hoping to attract more clientele to a style he feels is missing here.
“Fresh food takes time and it’s the quality I’m shooting for,” he said.
And, a side of homemade potato chips is included with most of the menu items.
The deli’s menu ranges including daily dinner specials, Greek classics like Baklava and Spanakopita, and American must-haves like his 8-ounce burgers and pizza which Alimonos said “is amazing.”
“The pizza crust and sauce are made from a special family recipe,” he said.
Alminonos said he’s shooting for a soft opening at Market Square the second week of August and a grand opening on Aug. 12.
