If you’re planning on going to this annual Memorial Day ceremony, you might want to be aware of this traffic change

People interested in honoring a veteran may do so by purchasing a brick paver with the veterans name on it. The paver will be set in Tidewater Veterans Memorial park, which is located near the Virginia Beach Convention Center (Courtesy of the City of Virginia Beach)

VIRGINIA BEACH — The 31st Annual Tidewater Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial across from the Convention Center.

To accommodate the ceremony, 19th Street will be closed from Parks Avenue to Pavilion Drive (West of the Doubletree Hotel) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The road closure along 19th Street may be adjusted as needed, officials said.

Because of construction and an event at the Convention Center, parking near the Tidewater Veterans Memorial will be extremely limited, city officials said.

Guests may also park at the Towne Bank Pavilion Center One Building, 2101 Parks Ave., or at Towne Bank, 600 22nd St., and ride a free shuttle to the Memorial.
