VIRGINIA BEACH — The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium, the outdoor zip line and climbing venue at 801 General Booth Blvd., is hosting its annual “Arbor Day Weekend Count-Off” starting Friday.
For every climber at The Adventure Park from Friday (April 26) through Sunday (April 28), the park will contribute $1 to the Arbor Day Foundation, officials wrote in a news release.
For each dollar, the Foundation will plant a tree, officials said.
The Adventure Park sums it up simply: “You climb a tree, we’ll plant a tree.”
So, one person climbing means one tree will be planted.
A family of four climbing means four trees are planted.
Special tickets are not needed to participate.
Anyone climbing at The Adventure Park during the three Arbor Day weekend dates will be counted toward the park’s donation.
Since 2015, The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium, along with the other Adventure Parks operated by the Outdoor Venture Group, have donated $13,917 to the Arbor Day Foundation.
That means climbers at those parks have planted 13,917 trees in national forests.
