Know more about the Woodstock Park Improvement Project at this gathering

VIRGINIA BEACH —  HRSD and the city’s Parks & Recreation are hosting an informational open house for the upcoming Woodstock Park Improvement Project.

Engineers and staff from both organizations will be on hand to answer questions, share information about the project design, its purpose, future park enhancements, and public impacts during construction.

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation has partnered with HRSD to complete improvements to the park as a whole including new pavilions, playground equipment, a family restroom, and improved parking.

In a nutshell:

  • WHO: HRSD and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation staff and engineers
  • WHAT: Open house featuring design renderings, animations, preliminary project timeline and schedule and other project information
  • WHEN: Monday, April 22, 6 – 8 p.m.
  • WHERE: Kempsville Recreation Center, Rooms 3 & 4, 800 Monmouth Lane, Virginia Beach
  • WHY: HRSD is constructing a 5.2 million gallon offline storage tank in Woodstock Park under a new cutting-edge skate facility. An underground storage tank in this area will reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events by temporarily holding conventional wastewater combined with storm water that migrates into wastewater pipelines until elevated conditions in the pipeline subside.
