VIRGINIA BEACH – Police have released very few details about a shooting that left a person dead Tuesday.
Authorities would only say it’s a homicide investigation.
According to a very brief news release from police, officers were sent to the 2700 block of Elson Green Avenue at around 3:59 p.m. after dispatchers received a report “that a person had been shot.”
There, officers found the boy dead from a gunshot wound. In an updated news release Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed the victim “was male teenaged juvenile, therefore we cannot release his identity.”
Police did note that “detectives do not believe this was a random act of violence.”
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the incident to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
