VIRGINIA BEACH — The popularity of all things Hamilton is palpable and the Virginia Beach History Museums are hosting an event to take advantage of the public’s interest in the people and circumstances surrounding the infamous duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr.
Virginia Beach History Museums — with volunteer support from the Regency Society of Virginia — is hosting a reenactment of the famed duel at the Francis Land House in Virginia Beach on Saturday.
There will be performances at 1:30 p.m. and another at 4:30 p.m.
The performance includes actors portraying Hamilton and Burr as they relive the series of events that led up to their showdown, as well as the duel itself, according to the City of Virginia Beach’s museum website.

The event will take place outdoors and under a tent, so the society suggests dressing appropriately for the weather.
Tickets are $12 and may be purchased online. There is no charge for children younger than 2, but a ticket is still needed to reserve a spot
The society is also searching for volunteers to wear period attire and talk about the life and times of people living during the early 19th century, according to the website. These volunteer actors will supplement the program, which includes professional interpreters portraying Burr and Hamilton, discussing their perspectives, and “reliving” the duel itself.
