A school aimed to help kids with developing lifelong learning skills opens its doors at a second location in Toano.
“We are excited to open our Toano location of The Kensington School and support children and their families in the upper part of James City County,” said the school’s founder Rachel Salmon.
The new location, at 8300 Richmond Road, will provide jobs for 12 employees and support 65 children.
Salmon founded the school in 2010 with a location in Williamsburg.
The school was designed as an early elementary education program that aims to provide children with experience in social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to promote lifelong learning. The Kensington’s School curriculum promotes guided self-discovery through social interaction.
Tuition for the school varies on the student’s age and attendance hours. Children may attend the school on a full time basis. All of the teachers at the school are CPR and First Aid Certified and must pass all background and criminal checks.
