NORFOLK — A 20-year-old local man was arrested Sunday night in connection with the Sunday morning shooting death of a 23-year-old man.
Tyquan Shakir Winslow, of the 6400 block of Faraday Court, is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the death of Christopher DeShawn Martin, police said.
Around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 8500 block of Wayland Street for a gunshot disturbance. There, they found Martin outside suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities said.
Martin, of the 600 block of Mariners Way, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have not released a motive, or circumstance surrounding the shooting. This is the 27th homicide this year in Norfolk, with 21 of those cases cleared by an arrest, police said
