Firefighters from James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg responded to the park Thursday afternoon and were still on scene around 4:40 p.m., fire officials said in a James City County news release.
Busch Gardens also released a statement on the fire around 5:15 p.m.
“A train that was not in service caught fire today, Aug. 16, behind-the-scenes in the New France area of Busch Gardens Williamsburg,” read the statement, sent by park spokeswoman Cindy Sarko.
