This boy shot two teens in Norfolk, police say

NORFOLK — Police here have arrested a 14 year-old boy in connection with a shooting that left two teenagers injured on Cary Avenue.

The juvenile is charged with two counts of malicious wounding, two counts of use of a firearm, possession of a firearm by juvenile, burglary, and grand larceny.

He is being held at the Norfolk Detention Home, police said.

On Wednesday around 2 p.m., police responded to the 2300 block of Cary Avenue on a report of a “gunshot disturbance.”

There, police and emergency medical personnel found two juveniles, both 16, “suffering from gunshot wounds,” according to a police news release.

The teens were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment “and are expected to be okay,” police said.  

Further information about the double shooting was not immediately released.
