Man killed in York County truck crash

A Newport News man was killed Tuesday after losing control of a pickup and crashing into a tree in York County, Virginia State Police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., Justin Neal Clark lost control of a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado traveling eastbound on Victory Boulevard at the intersection of U.S. 17, causing the truck to cross over a concrete median into the westbound lanes before running off the road and striking a tree, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya of Virginia State Police.

Clark, 26, was cut out of the truck and taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, Anaya said.

Clark was not wearing a seatbelt, Anaya said. Alcohol was also a contributing factor.
