Registration for kindergarten students will open at 9:30 a.m. May 4, according to Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools.
The school division is encouraging parents take advantage of early registration to help schools plan for kindergarten enrollment for the 2018-19 school year.
Kindergarteners should be registered at the school they will attend.
Families should bring the following documents to their child’s registration:
- An official birth certificate.
- Social Security Card (voluntary).
- Current immunization record.
- Physical examination record (performed no earlier than 12 months prior to the date student first enters public kindergarten).
- Two items for proof of residence (acceptable documents include evidence of residence purchase or lease; utility bill (gas/lights/water); personal property (vehicle) tax assessment; real estate assessment; or temporary/transitional housing verification).
Full-day kindergarten programs follow the regular elementary school day schedule. Exceptions to the regular schedule are noted on the school calendar.
Bus transportation is available to all kindergarten children living within their zoned school of attendance. School bus stop locations and times are available online on the busing information website.
