A family was displaced by a house fire early Sunday morning, shortly after another fire engulfed the Williamsburg Brass Shop in James City County.

Firefighters had been on the scene of a fire at Colonial Town Plaza in Norge, where the Williamsburg Brass Shop is located, when emergency dispatchers received a call about a house fully engulfed in flames in the Mirror Lakes subdivision, according to a James City County news release.

The call came in around 1 a.m. Sunday.

A family of four and a guest had been using a fire pit on the back deck Saturday evening.

The family extinguished the fire before going inside for the night, but then woke up later to find the deck and back of the house on fire.

Fire crews arrived on scene within five minutes of the emergency dispatch, but the flames had already engulfed the home when they arrived, causing the roof to collapse.

There were no injuries.

The James City County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help raise money for the family affected by the fire.
