Some dance enthusiasts have let the good times roll for the Historic Triangle’s needy pets.

The Good Time Dancers, based in James City County, commemorated Giving Tuesday with a large donation to Heritage Humane Society, according to a county news release.

The dancers raised more than $1,500 in cash and pet supplies to support the shelter, and made their delivery on Nov. 28.

“Good Time Dancers is one of many examples of community groups that stepped forward to help our pets in need,” Heritage Humane Executive Director Kimberly Lashka said.

The dancers have roughly 100 members, and they meet three times a week for line dancing at the James City County Recreation Center, according to Amy Fiedor, recreation program coordinator. The group’s members are aged 55 and older.

The donated supplies include pet food, pet beds, towels and pet bowls.
