As Historic Triangle residents remember and honor veterans on Friday, some government offices will also close to mark the day.
The closings are not the same in every locality, so residents should check before heading to a library, park or recreation center.
Here is a list of closings on Veterans Day:
Williamsburg
The Municipal Building, located at 401 Lafayette St., will be closed, along with the Quarterpath Recreation Center and the Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse.
Waller Mill Park will be open during normal operating hours. Both branches of the Williamsburg Regional Library will remain open.
Residents can still pay bills to the city using the drop box on the front of the municipal building, and online here.
Residents with a water emergency should call 757-220-6196.
James City County
County government offices and the Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse will be closed on Veterans Day. The James City County Marina office and store will be closed, but will reopen Saturday.
The James City County Recreation Center and the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center will be open. All county parks will be open. The Chickahominy Riverfront Park office and store will be open.
Libraries will be open, as well as the county’s convenience centers and garbage transfer station.
There will be no change in the collection schedule of curbside recycling in the county.
York County
County government offices and the York-Poquoson Courthouse will be closed. Libraries and the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office will be closed too.
York-Poquoson Social Services will also be closed to mark the day.
There will be no change in the collection schedule of garbage and recyclables, but the Waste Management Center office will be closed.
The compost facility, drop-off centers, and transfer station on Goodwin Neck Road will remain open.
