NORFOLK — A Suffolk man is facing murder charges after a shooting early Saturday morning on Washington Avenue.
Donald Bowman, 26, is charged with second-degree murder, malicious wounding and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the deadly shooting of 20-year-old James Henderson Jr. of Chicago.
Norfolk police found Henderson and an unidentified 25-year-old man injured in the 700 block of Washington Avenue just before 3 a.m. on Saturday. Both men were brought to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Henderson would later die while the other man is expected to be OK, police said.
While police were on the scene of the shooting, Bowman stopped at an inspection station in the Downtown Tunnel.
Bowman was also brought to SNGH for treatment and is now being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Police have not yet released any information on a potential motive for this shooting.
