VIRGINIA BEACH — A local volunteer group is hosting a weekend book sale to raise money to support public libraries.
The Friends of Virginia Beach Public Library will hold a buy one, get one free book sale on Saturday at library locations throughout the city.
The volunteer group regularly hosts events and fundraising efforts to support library services and programs.
“The Friends sale offers a wide selection of books at bargain prices to raise money to support our library system, one of the most important assets in our community,” said President Jill Burr in a press release.
Books sold at the event will be gently used and will include genres like children’s books, fiction, non-fiction and more.
Citywide book sales will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all city branches except Wahab Law Library, which will be closed.
