Full six-week closure of part of Robin Hood Road begins Sunday

NORFOLK — A portion of Robin Hood Road will be closed for six weeks beginning Sunday night, VDOT said.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Oct. 8 between Military Highway and Almeda Avenue. According to VDOT, the closure should last approximately through Nov. 21.

Detours utilizing Military Highway, East Princess Anne Road and Almeda Avenue will be in place for drivers.

The closure allows for the reconstruction of this section of the road. VDOT says crews will creating additional roadway and installing storm drainage, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.

The work is part of the Military Highway “Continuous Flow Intersection” project.
