NORFOLK — A 59-year-old man died after being hit by a car Sunday night, police said.
According to police, James O. Poster was walking in the crosswalk in the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive around 7 p.m. when he was hit by a car driving northbound.
Poster was brought to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died, police said.
The driver of the car remained at the scene of the crash and was not injured.
Once the investigation is complete, the Norfolk Police Department will turn over its findings to the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office to determine if criminal charges are appropriate.
