VIRGINIA BEACH — Residents will have their pick of free shows, good food, and plenty of fun as the city prepares its finale of the annual Neptune Festival with Boardwalk Weekend.
Crowds of people are expected to make their way to the Virginia Beach boardwalk to close out the 44th anniversary of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival for a series of activities, live performances, and shopping opportunities at the Oceanfront.
From Friday to Sunday, vendors and food trucks from throughout the area will line the boardwalk from 2nd Street to 36th Street, selling food, drinks, and souvenirs.
Events like the Neptune 8K & 5K Run, International Sandsculpting Championship and the 16 block Neptune Festival Grand Parade, will give festival-goers plenty of choices.
Music will also be in the air, as the festival is slated to feature plenty of musical performances spread among three stages at 17th, 24th, and 31st streets.
The shows, which are free to the public, will feature local and national artists like Eric Paslay, Steel Pulse, and Langhorne Slim & The Law.
Boardwalk Weekend is scheduled to run from noon to 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
