Deputies from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man who allegedly raped a 17-year-old at a motel after searching for him for a week and a half.
Investigators arrested Randall Drane Monday in connection with a June 15 incident at a motel in the 8800 block of George Washington Memorial Highway, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
He is charged with rape, unlawful use or injury to telephone line, assault and battery, object sexual penetration, abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to an arrest report.
Police believe Drane threatened a 17-year-old girl not to call the police after he sexually assaulted her at the motel, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shelley Ward said.
Deputies were dispatched to the hotel around 6:50 p.m. Saturday after the victim reported the assault, Ward said.

Ward said the victim had no other injuries besides those relating to the sexual assault.
Police are not yet releasing the reason the 17-year-old and Drane were together at the motel, but said they were known to each other.
