Police are searching for a man who allegedly caused more than $1,000 in damages to a garage door at an auto repair shop during a heated argument with a manager earlier this month.
Williamsburg police issued a felony warrant Friday for Edwin Ernesto Hernandez-Nieves, 37 of Portsmouth, who is charged with destruction of property, according to a statement from Maj. Greg Riley.
The manager at Transmission Warehouse Plus at 233 Parkway Drive told police he and an angry customer exchanged heated words over customer service on March 18.
Police believe Hernandez-Nieves punched the business’s garage door and damaged it following the argument, according to the manager’s report to police.
