VIRGINIA BEACH — How should the city plan for new places to walk, jog, run, hike or ride? Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation wants to hear answers from residents as it plans for its 2017 bikeways and trails plan.

A public input meeting will be Thursday, March 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach City Council chambers. The event is free to attend.

To gauge how residents use the city’s trails system and what they would like to see in the future, the meeting will focus on three main questions, according to the city’s website:

  • What concerns do you have with biking and walking in Virginia Beach?
  • What improvements would you like to see made to our trails system?
  • Are there changes to laws and policies that should be considered?

For those who can’t attend in person, the session will stream live on the city’s Facebook page, website, and on television on Cox channel 48 and Verizon channel 45.
