A Quality Inn & Suites in James City County was robbed twice in a five-day time span, police say.
James City County Police responded to two robberies at the hotel, located at 5351 Richmond Road, on Feb. 11 and again early Wednesday, according to a James City County Police news release.
Investigators are working to figure out whether the two robberies are connected, the release said.
The first robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. Feb. 11, police said. A white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and a black mask entered the hotel, approached the clerk and demanded money. He implied he had a gun, the release said.
The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect has blue eyes and a slender build. He is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, and is 20 to 30 years old, the release said.
The second robbery occurred around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday at the same hotel. The second time, a “light skinned black or mixed race male” entered the lobby wearing a faded dark green work-style jacket and work gloves, the release said. He had a white material, similar to a T-shirt, wrapped around his face.
He demanded money and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
There were no guests or customers in the lobby when the incidents occurred and no injuries occurred, the release said.
There are no surveillance videos or photos of the robberies, but police are still investigating the two crimes, the release said.
