York County officials are warning residents to beware of Internal Revenue Service phone call scams.

A York County resident told the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Tuesday they had received two IRS scam phone calls over the last two days, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Both calls had computer generated voices, which told the resident an arrest warrant has been issued for them. The two calls gave different callback numbers: 206-785-1685 and 360-667-5411.

Last year, the sheriff’s office also received complaints of very similar phone scams, the release said.

Sheriff’s office officials believe the same scam may be circulating again, the release said.
The release included an audio clip from a scam phone call last year Sheriff Danny Diggs had received.

“The phone number in this video was 346-229-9798, however, I suspect that the message stays the same,” the release said.
