Police: Woman charged with drug possession after almost hitting gas pump

williamsburg-police-car-300x131A woman accused of almost hitting several cars and a gas pump at a Valero in Williamsburg has been charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, according to the Williamsburg Police Department.

Williamsburg Police received a call about a blue Chevrolet Impala driving erratically near Lafayette Street and Capitol Landing Road around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, Williamsburg Police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley said.

The caller also said the driver almost hit multiple vehicles and a gas pump when they pulled into a Valero gas station, Riley said.

When officers arrived at the Valero, they observed a vehicle matching the description given over the phone, Riley said. The officers then made contact with the driver and identified her as Kizzy Elizabeth Christian, 38, of James City County.

The officers determined Christian was not intoxicated while they were speaking to her, Riley said.

Christian consented to a police search of her car, which revealed a few prescription medicines that were not in labeled containers, police said. The items were seized for forensic identification.

On Monday, the investigating officer obtained a misdemeanor warrant for Christian, charging her with possession of a controlled substance.

The warrant had not yet been served, Riley said around noon Monday.
