Tidewater Community College is targeting very small donations for student scholarships.
As in, cup-of-coffee small.
Tidewater’s alumni council has launched a fall fundraiser, “High 5 a TCC Student,” seeking $5 contributions from graduates, the college said in a release Monday. The goal is to raise $18,000, which would allow three students to attend TCC full-time for a year, including tuition, fees and books.
“If every TCC alum chipped in $5 – what a cup of coffee can cost these days – we would raise $300,000 for student scholarships,” Tamara Robinson, manager of alumni relations, said in a release.
Donations will be earmarked for the TCC Fund, which provides scholarships and other assistance to students, according to the release.
