Miss a graduation? Virginia Beach Television has you covered

VIRGINIA BEACH — Maybe you know somebody who is graduating but can’t make the big day. Maybe you just really like valedictorian speeches and the joy of flying mortarboards.

Either way, viewers of Virginia Beach Television can get their fill of graduation ceremonies over an upcoming three-week stretch. Each year, the city channel records the ceremonies of all 12 public high schools and broadcasts them on VBTV (channel 46 on Cox and Verizon).

The ceremonies will also be streamed live at www.vbschools.com/students/graduation, and DVDs of each one will be available for sale. The DVDs of this year’s classes will cost $16.99 and include a professional-quality video and an album case with a color cover, according to the city.

The city will broadcast each graduation at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the following dates:

• Bayside:                            Monday                  June 20
• Kempsville:                      Tuesday                  June 21
• Salem:                               Wednesday            June 22
• Tallwood:                          Thursday               June 23
• Green Run:                       Friday                     June 24
• First Colonial:                  Monday                  June 27
• Renaissance Academy:  Tuesday                  June 28
• Princess Anne:                 Wednesday            June 29
• Landstown:                       Thursday               June 30
• Ocean Lakes:                    Monday                  July 1
• Kellam:                              Tuesday                  July 5
• Cox:                                   Wednesday           July 6

The deadline to order a DVD is July 31. Packages will be mailed Aug. 8 through Aug. 19. For more details, go here.
