A 75-year-old man died Thursday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 64, police said.
Hans Ernest Lorenz, of the 100 block of Walnut Hills Drive, was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry westbound on Interstate 64 around 4:54 p.m. when he ran off the road east of Route 199 just past Busch Gardens, according to a news release from Virginia State Police.
Lorenz over-corrected then ran off the road a second time, striking a guardrail and then a tree, police said. He died upon impact.
Notification has been made to family members.
