A 22-year-old man has been arrested in the rape of a child, police said.
Williamsburg Police arrested Erick Enrique Lemus Martinez, of James City County, on Wednesday after a 12-year-old girl reported having sex with him several times.
The girl, accompanied by a parent, made the report at the police station on Monday. She said she met a man named “Erim Lemus” through the Kik app.
Police identified, located, interviewed and arrested Martinez on the same day.
Martinez has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of forcible sodomy.
He is being held without bond at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
