Two people accused of stealing more than $1,000 in electronics from Walmart were arrested after a citizen alerted deputies of the suspects’ location via social media.

Adam Joel Figueroa and Ashley Marilyn Lemaster, both 18-year-old York County residents, are facing felony larceny charges after York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies say they stole televisions, sound bars, DVDs, clothing and more from the Walmart on East Rochambeau Drive between Jan. 28 and Jan. 29.

Lt. Dennis Ivey with YPSO said the Sheriff’s Office received information from James City County Police after someone saw the suspects posting photos of electronics on the Williamsburg Trash and Treasure Facebook page, which allows local citizens to post items they wish to sell or buy.

YPSO then posted the wanted suspects’ photos on its Facebook page. On Feb. 10, someone informed deputies through the Facebook tip form Figueroa and Lemaster were staying at the Motel 6 in Williamsburg, Ivey said.

Williamsburg Police arrested Lemaster and Figueroa on Feb. 10 and found a large amount of electronics “sitting out in the open” in the hotel room, Maj. Greg Riley with the Williamsburg Police Department said.

Officers obtained a search warrant and turned over the items to YPSO.

While they were being arrested, Lemaster told officers Figueroa had assaulted her earlier that morning and would not let her leave during the assault.

Figueroa has been charged in Williamsburg with felony abduction and kidnapping, felony larceny with intent to sell and felony conspiracy to commit a felony as well as a misdemeanor assault charge.

Lemaster faces two felony charges of larceny with intent to sell in Williamsburg.

In York County, he and Lemaster each face a count of shoplifting and a count of conspiracy to shoplift, both felonies.
