A York County man claims he was attacked by two suspects as he was leaving for work last week.

Authorities said two men — armed with pistols — attacked and attempted to rob the 32-year-old victim in the driveway of his home in the 1500 block of Merrimac Trail at around 6:45 a.m. Jan. 13.

“They pistol-whipped the victim,” Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said in an email, adding the man suffered small cuts to his face and a bump on his head.

Ivey said the suspects — described as black males of a height between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6 who were wearing blue jeans and dark hoodies — ran off toward the railroad tracks along Merrimac Trail after injuring the victim.

Nothing was stolen from the victim, Ivey said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
