Sentara Medical Group has purchased for $15.45 million a nearly 50,000 square foot building it already occupies on the eastern edge of New Town.

The Sentara New Town Medical Office Building was owned by Armada Hoffler Properties until the sale, which was announced in a Jan. 13 news release from Divaris Real Estate, which handled the deal. The building was specifically built to suit Sentara’s needs in 2008.

Sentara spokesman Dale Gauding said the nonprofit medical group likes the location. The building currently houses Sentara Urgent Care along with family medicine, internal medicine and pediatric service providers.

The two-story, brick-faced building is located at 4374 New Town Ave. on the eastern edge of the James City County development.

Divaris represented Armada Hoffler Properties in the sale. Armada Hoffler is a Virginia Beach-based real estate and construction company.
