A new emergency vehicle service center has opened its doors in York County.
Atlantic Emergency Solutions will provide fire and rescue emergency vehicle services to the Hampton Roads area.
It is the company’s 10th service center for fire and emergency vehicles, according to a company news release. The company also has centers in Richmond, Manassas, Roanoke and Albermarle County, as well as in parts of North Carolina, Delaware and Maryland.
Marketing Coordinator Nick Amidon said the need for emergency vehicle service and maintenance is always in high demand because of the large number of fire and life safety departments in the area.
A grand opening was held Oct. 17, with members of the York County Board of Supervisors, Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority present, as well as numerous local fire and police department representatives.
President and CEO Joe Pack, who previously owned and operated the Seaford Country Market, is from York County and wanted to bring a center to an area he called home.
“We felt like the Hampton Roads area had a need for a sales and service center for emergency vehicles,” he said, explaining it was an added benefit he found a building in his hometown that suited the company’s needs.
Pack began his career at the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office and worked as a deputy for 13 years.
“We are excited to be here in the Hampton Roads region and to provide a convenient service solution for the emergency vehicles in this community,” Pack said.
The 22,000 square-foot building is located at 144 Freedom Blvd. and has 16 employees. The center provides 24-hour service seven days a week, as well as roadside service in the local area.
Atlantic Emergency Solutions is also an emergency vehicles dealership and works in partnership with Pierce Manufacturing, Road Rescue Ambulances and Frontline Communications to provide ambulances, fire trucks and vehicle parts and equipment along the east coast and in West Virginia.
