Virginia State Police are investigating an apparent suicide after a person was hit by train Thursday night in Williamsburg.
Emergency officials responded to the 1300 block of Richmond Road — just south of Bypass Road — around 9:40 p.m. Thursday for the incident.
A preliminary investigation has led the responders to believe it was a suicide, Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police said.
Police have not released any information — including gender — about the person hit by the train.
This is the second instance in less than month of a person getting struck by a train in Williamsburg.
